He went from being alert with shockingly strong eye contact, to a sleepy moldable bliss….
And here is her story…
In her words:
Beautiful, sleepy, new Carter… thank you for coming to the studio!
In her words:
“I knew right from the beginning that Carter was going to be a special little man. His conception was not planned, but right from the start we welcomed whoever decided to enter our world in 9 months.
As the months passed, Carter developed perfectly and on April 22, he decided that it was time. He was scheduled to arrive on the 24th via cesarean, but in true Pina fashion, he couldn’t wait. Contractions started early that morning and by one o’clock they were in full force. By the time we got to the hospital the contractions were about a minute and a half apart and I was prepped for a c-section. Forty-five minutes later, as we waited for the anesthesiologist, he was born VBAC.
Carter entered the world at 5:00pm without a tear in his little eyes. He was such a peanut weighing in at 5 lbs. 10 oz. and only 18 inches long. Looking down at him for the first time brought tears to my eyes. He was so sweet snuggling up against me for his first hour of life staring at me with those alert little eyes saying “Here I am mommy!””
It was such a rush when I read the email from my doctor asking me to photograph her newborn girl; I felt super excited, nervous and thrilled all smushed together! This woman helped bring my beautiful baby into the world.. and I am so lucky to have met her and her amazing partner’s sweet baby Gia. She slept like an angel and photographed like one too…
she had strong thick hair and true blue eyes.. she was rather awake (as most slender newborn girls are during their shoot) but eventually crashed into a squishy slumber…
I love being behind the camera… and little Mason loves to be in front if it! His mother has given him tons of practice with her own photography passion, so he was fully prepared when he ventured into the studio yesterday!
It has been a long six months since I last saw little Mason for his newborn portraits, and he has grown into such a curious and super cute little boy!
Thank you for making my first session back at work a simple one! He made it so easy for me!
It is still so hard for me to believe that this little girl is only nine days old. She spent the first two hours of our session with the widest newborn eyes that I have ever seen. Her eye contact was incredible and never failing as we tried to lull her into sleep for her poses. We had her down for about 15 minutes of shoot time!
Still.. we got this first photo AND the smile shot.. and because of them, I wouldn’t change the session for anything!
So great to see mom and dad again! And I can’t wait for our cake smash next year!
