Look What We Got Ben To Do | Rhode Island and Cape Cod Wedding Photographer

I was very excited to photograph this couple!  Chelsy – you are fabulous, and Ben… you are too!

In her words:

“Ben and I would have never guessed that we would meet our soul mate on an online dating site.  My brother-in-law thought it would be comical to make a Yahoo Personals page one afternoon when I forgot to log out of my Yahoo account.  A week later my brother-in-law told me “Hey there is this guy Ben you are talking to, take a look.”  Long story short a month later on my birthday my now husband took me on our first date and 6 months later we were married!

It was a quick courtship, an even quicker engagement but it has been the best ride of both of our lives.  At the time of our nuptials Ben was stationed in Newport, RI due to transfer that summer, the Coast Guard brought us to Cape Cod.  This is where we have been for the last 3 years and as life slowed down for us we both know that this is the quiet before the storm.  A lot of changes will be happening in the next year.  Next spring our time here on Cape Cod will be over.  Not knowing were the Coast Guard will be taking us we are enjoying the calm right now.

Our love is the strongest right now and when we are in the mist of craziness next year and what it will bring, its these moments that we want to remember.  We wanted that reminder in pictures to bring us back to a calm part of our lives. So that we know no matter how crazy life gets for us we will always have each other and the calm will always come back around.  Thank you to Michelle for capturing us and our love for our “Just Because” shoot! “

Newborn Baby Carter | Rhode Island and Boston Newborn Baby Photographer

Beautiful, sleepy, new Carter… thank you for coming to the studio!

In her words:

“I knew right from the beginning that Carter was going to be a special little man.  His conception was not planned, but right from the start we welcomed whoever decided to enter our world in 9 months.

As the months passed, Carter developed perfectly and on April 22, he decided that it was time.  He was scheduled to arrive on the 24th via cesarean, but in true Pina fashion, he couldn’t wait.  Contractions started early that morning and by one o’clock they were in full force.  By the time we got to the hospital the contractions were about a minute and a half apart and I was prepped for a c-section.  Forty-five minutes later, as we waited for the anesthesiologist, he was born VBAC.

Carter entered the world at 5:00pm without a tear in his little eyes.  He was such a peanut weighing in at 5 lbs.  10 oz. and only 18 inches long.  Looking down at him for the first time brought tears to my eyes.  He was so sweet snuggling up against me for his first hour of life staring at me with those alert little eyes saying “Here I am mommy!””

Jack’s Messy Cake! | Happy First Birthday Rhode Island Cake Smash Photographer

Aww Jack is almost one!  I met him last fall during a family session at Coggeshall Farm…. he still has those remarkable eyes that photograph so well!

His mom and dad wanted to share a little of his personality with you:

“Jack is 11 months old and is energetic, adventurous, and inquisitive to his new world. He greets everyone with  his loving smile and often impish grin”

Eight Month Sam | Rhode Island and Boston Natural light Baby Photographer

We had a warm late afternoon at Roger Williams Park for our session..and I think we caught the last of the blooms on the wondrous weeping tree in the botanical garden!

The project continues with this miraculous story:

“Early in the morning of August 19th, 2011, nothing was going to stop Samuel Richard Bell from entering the world. Unfortunately, his umbilical cord almost got in the way. Luckily it did not, thanks to the amazing, miracle-working doctors and nurses at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, who dropped everything to perform an emergency c-section. They had him out within minutes. Since August 19th was just over 11 weeks before his due date, Sam, at 3lbs 1oz, was considered a high-risk preemie. He would spend his first 9½ weeks of life in the NICU, where he charmed all the nurses as he grew to be was one of the biggest babies there (7lbs!). He has thrived since then, gaining almost 10 more pounds in the months he’s been home, and just got his doctor’s approval to get out into the world, as his lungs and immune system seem to be developing normally. He’s been a very happy and healthy baby, for which we are extremely grateful. We are excited to celebrate with some beautiful pictures by Michelle! “
